4ever Discovering

It's the final countdown
Time is running out.
It’s already May… It’s crazy to think that I have been living in Taipei for 8 months!!!!!
Wow. Where has the time gone?
There is still soo much to do, but only 6 weeks left.
Danielle and I have been choosing wisely what to do and when to do it. We have been all around Taiwan, and still have a few places to go for the very first time.
Here is a map of Taiwan, I’ve placed hearts and names on where we have been.

Penghu Island
We still have: Kenting, Pingtung , and Taitung. Retuning to Kaohsiung and Taroko.

You can clearly see that we spent all of our weekends discovering this beautiful country.
We are starting to think of all the things that we are going to miss when we’re gone. Most of them will be the food, and the easy accessibility to amazing dishes. I’m also going to miss the people, the little weirds things, and even the ants in my apartment. (OKAY. maybe not the ants and sometimes cockroaches….)

I think adulting for the first time is hard…. But adulting overseas for the first time….. Well, it has its ups and downs. So, this has been a year of firsts and I’m so happy to share those with you.
First time:
-
Choosing an apartment to rent! (That was really stressful… so happy that Danielle and I did not settle and found a place we could live in for 10 months)
-
Paying RENT and electricity every month…….. Through an ATM (okay… the first time, I was a little nervous but then its really really easy)
-
Going to the hospital here // Going to the doctors here (you get sick… it happens… i'm thankful to Danielle and my Taiwanese friend who came with me! )
-
The first time… taking out the garbage…. I mean actually taking out the garbage Taiwanese style… AKA running after the garbage truck
-
The first experiencing a typhooon !!! Remember that picture of the woman with the pork belly bun… yes that was Danielle and I but with McDonald's.
-
Paying taxes…. (still trying to figure that one out)
-
Spending Christmas in a different continent
-
Having a boyfriend///friends come visit
-
HAVING A REAL TRAVEL BLOG.
-
AND FIRST YEAR BEING A FULL-TIME TEACHER

There are sooo many little first time things, that I would love to share with you guys…. For example the first time eating chicken butts…. Which are actually very tasty. I live for the first times. I want to experience everything this world has to offer (OKAY… maybe not everything), but you know what I mean. Taiwan has taught me so much about adapting to a new environment, learning the social norms, and learning ways to communicate without using language. Taiwan has shown me love, and support. People here are so nice, always offering to help you, and feed you.
If you want to feel loved and full… definitely, put Taiwan on your list.
Looking back on the past 8 months is very overwhelming. Danielle and I have accomplished so much and discovered so much of this beautiful island. Yes, there will always be things we wished we did, and things we wished we hadn’t…. but I would not change a single part of this experience

Thank you Taiwan, Thank you Danielle, Thank you friends who came to visit, Thank you Taiwanese friends. Thank you to everyone who reads our blog!!
It is beginning to feel like the end… but that means it’s just another beginning right?? 6 more weeeeeks.
<3 <3 I’ll probably post a LAST WEEK or LAST MONTH views.. Maybe ill include the first little things.
