Cloud Heart Waterfall

I am LOVING the nature aspect of Taiwan.  You can take the MTR then a bus and find yourself surrounded by mountains, trees, and even waterfalls.

OKAY. Getting there and getting back is not the easiest process.

Especially when there is a group of 50 people.

Danielle and I went to these waterfalls with an adventure touring group called TAO-(link will be at the bottom with quick description).  So, usually they have a cut off point of 15 people, but this time they made it open for everyone.  So many people were interested and soo many people showed up!   To get to the waterfall, we took a taxi from Dingdu Station.  I heard it’s easier to get there by SCOOTER… obviously, but if you rely on public transportation like us then it is a little more complicated.

I did some research and some people go to Sanxia bus terminal and then take the Xiong-Kong bus.  You can take a bus from Dingdu to Sanxia and get off at the main street then wait for the Xiong-Kong bus.  If you want to take a taxi, you can put 雲森瀑布 into google maps- which leads you to the trailhead.

Once you get to the trailhead, the hike is pretty straightforward and easy.  It is muccchhh easier than our Christmas Eve hike.  Yes, there are still ropes to climb up and hold.  This time you even have to cross a bridge of logs, but it is quite easy.  The hike takes about 40 minutes.

The waterfall was beautiful and you could even go swimming.  Some people did but seeing as it was February and chilly.  Danielle and I did not want to risk getting sick so we enjoyed watching people suffering going into the water.  LOL- that was a joke…

On the way home, all 50 of us waiting to get on a bus… for maybe 40 minutes.  We packed the bus so much that it was legit rubbing against the road… Luckily we both got seats. :D

Yes. It is a hassle to get to if you’re not familiar.  The taxi drivers are also not too sure where they are going, show them the 雲森瀑布 words and the map and they “should” be able to figure it out.   I love waterfalls, and sometimes I regret not going for a dive… but then I remember all the people freezing cold after.

You can also take a trail to the side to get on top of the falls.  PLEASE BE CAREFUL.  :)

It’s an easy trail to get, that leads to a beautiful waterfall.  Pack a good lunch (cosco salad)  and enjoy it surrounded by nature.
