4ever Discovering
Hong Kong DisneyLand
The happiest place on Earth- even more so when you go in December and it’s decorated for the holidays!
I think we went to Hong Kong Disney at the perfect time. Our friends and family back home were just starting to get into the holiday spirit. We were realizing we would not be home for all our cute little traditions, so we booked a ticket to Hong Kong and stepped into a fairy tale.

Disney handrails!
First off, Danielle and I have a goal to go to all the Disney Theme Parks.
So far, we’ve been so Walt Disney World in Orlando, Disneyland Paris, and now Hong Kong Disneyland. So we still have Tokyo Disneyland, Disneyland Park in California, and Shanghai Disneyland Park. (which we will be going to sooooooon)
Once you're in Hong Kong, getting to Disney is very easy. You take the MTR to Sunny Bay Station and you transfer to Disney’s very own subway line! They have their own MTR subways all decorated with Disney! The windows, the couches, and the handrails are all designed to look like Mickey Mouse!
At first, we were planning on spending 2 days at the theme park and buying a 2 day pass, however, when we got there at around 9 AM, we decided we could DO IT ALL IN ONE GO. We purchased a day pass for around 100 dollars CAD. I don’t know if the workers put something in the air, but it’s like as soon as you enter this theme park, you are now a happy child. Everyone has huge smiles on their faces and the place just gives off a positive energy- exactly what I needed.

Disney windows!
This Disney Park reminded to me a lot of Disneyland Paris. It is not that big but has all the original rides and attractions. We went to Disney on a Saturday morning and stayed until 9 PM. The park is not that big, and luckily the lines were not long. The longest we waiting was around 30 minutes… so very good! They have 7 different sections: Main Street USA, Mystic Point, Grizzly Gulch, Adventureland, Fantasyland, Toy Storyland and Tomorrowland.
We had the chance to go to all 7 sections, and to lots of shows. The shows were some of the best we have ever seen. They are definitely worth the 100 CAD for the entrance fee.
The best shows they had were : Mickey and the Wondrous Book- where they were speaking in Cantonese, with 2 screens, one with Mandarin subtitles, and one with English subtitles. They performed song from many popular Disney movies. In Adventureland, they had the Festival of Lion King. This show was epic. The singing, the dancing, the music, the props, it was amazing. I highly recommend going to this show- and it is LION KING; one of the best Disney movies.

We hit up all the original rides like,
-
It’s a small word
-
Mystic Manor
-
Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars (HIGHLY RECOMMEND)
-
Tarzan’s Treehouse
-
Jungle River Cruise (This one was pretty fun, especially because we had a pretty monotone tour guide, who would make bad dad jokes, and we were the only ones who laughed) (He was awesome!!)
-
Space Mountain
-
Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters
-
Mad Hatter Teas Cups (got in trouble for using my selfie stick)
-
The many Adventures of Winnie Poo
At night, Disney ends off with a parade and epic fireworks. We had the Christmas Parade, where the characters would come down Main street dancing, singing, and waving to the crowd. It was quite a show, with live music and a light show. Then you have 15 minutes to find a spot for the fireworks! We choose right next to a garage can! It did the job aha, no one could go in front of us.
It was around 15 minutes of fireworks, which included a light show, and a digital show on Sleeping Beauty’s castle. These fireworks were the best I have ever seen!
Some tips to make the best out of your Hong Kong Disney Vacation:
-
Go early! Make the most out of your day.
-
Bring some food for lunch and snack (I didn't really enjoy the lunch we had, it wasn’t expensive but I would have preferred to bring something in)
-
If you want to take pictures with the characters then I would recommend getting a 2-day pass. The lines to taking pictures with the characters were actually longer than the rides.
-
STAY FOR THE FIREWORKS! THEY ARE WORTH THE WAIT!!!
