Huashan Creative Park

Discover your inner artist at Huashan Creative Park

Hmm, I think I would compare this place to the distillery district in Toronto- but in it's own little park.  An urban park.

A brief history lesson about this park;  it was actually a wine factory built in 1914, that was abandoned when some locals stumbled upon it.  The word spread of this building that was still well preserved and people started to come and check it out.  People interested in the arts were quite fond of the place because it had high ceilings with tons of natural sunlight. Word kept spreading about this upcoming art spot and in 1999, it was restore to a full art centre.

Our friend took us to this place for a French movie and picnic.  Before we got there, we had the chance to wander the park grounds. (It is fairly big, big enough for us to get lost !) There was also so much going on.

All these little artsy stores, some with DYI centres; where you go and built these wooden decorations. There were also many events going on in the same day:

-The French movie and picnic

-An international photography showcase

- An upcoming video game promotion

The French picnic was lots of fun- they were promoting breast examinations, and annual check ups. It was breast cancer awareness month. So everything was done in pink and red.  Our friend brought little "blankets", more like table cloths for us to sit on.  Some people went all out the brought full blankets, wine, cheese, chairs, tables, and the people behind us even had McDonalds.  The vibes and setting were really good, however the movie they placed was very odd, so we didn't stay that long.

There is always something going on at the place.  They also have a cinema where they show independent movies.

If you are an artist, designer, musician, or just like to browse around really cool and unique stores - check out this urban park!
