4ever Discovering
Themed Restaurants

because just eating at normal restaurants was not good enough... (jokes it is)
As you know from all of our posts… we really like food. Taipei has a lot of food to offer, which makes living here great. Danielle and I search for interesting restaurants to go and grab a bite or a drink. There is quite the list here in Taipei, and they are easy to find. We went to 3 restaurants, all around the Ximen MTR stop.
Modern Toilet:
This restaurant is very silly, and I had trouble eating here because you can imagine thinking about the bathroom, which is not so pleasant. LOL. You walked in, and it was decorated like a washroom, you actually sat on toilet seats to eat. There were huge toilet, you could sit in if you were a group. The food comes out in a toilet, both western style toilets and squat toilets and the drinks comes out in urinals. This place was a lot of fun, they do have some pretty strict rules because it’s a place where people come just for the pictures…. You need to order a certain number of dishes. The food is not the best, but you’re there for the experience right? ;)
Alice is Coming
Awhhh, I really liked this restaurant. It was super cute and crazy decorated. They had some dinner dishes but it was mostly desserts… waffles and milkshakes. You also had to order a certain number of dishes. This restaurant is totally worth it, and you feel like you are apart of the cartoon. You get to sit in tea cups, everything was decorated with lots of details. The waitresses are also dressed up like the Queen of Hearts Castle Guards. Apparently on the weekend, the restaurant hires a magician to come and entertain the guests. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

In% Hair Cafe
OKAY… so usually hair and coffee should not go together but this place does a really good job. The restaurant/hair salon has 2 floors, one floor for food and one floor to get your hair done. We stopped in for a “quick” cafe latte. We saw that they did cafe art, and I was truly obsessed and convinced not only Danielle but my mom and my dad to come with us. We each ordered a latte that had a different animal. It was super cute. It is crazy how much concentration it takes to make a cafe art. I think it’s going to be my new hobby….
Themed restaurants are so much fun, yes, they could do some serious damage to your wallet, but they create a new way for you to enjoy food. We will certainly be looking for some themed restaurants in South East Asia. If you have any recommendations, leave us a comment. I’ve already read about an unicorn restaurant and mermaid restaurant in Thailand. :D :D
